Gestalt Practitioners Diploma

A 2-year practitioner programme for people who want to apply Gestalt therapy theory and methodology to their work with individuals and groups.

Frequently Asked Question

What is the Gestalt Approach?

The Gestalt approach rests on the premise that the person and their environment are inseparable.  Unlike other approaches which focus on the inner world of a person, in Gestalt the person cannot be considered apart from the context of their lives. Therefore Gestalt practice considers the process of mutual influence in the person/environment field.  The environment is specific to each person. It is the context of their lived experience.

Gestalt practitioners are skilled in :

  • attending to the interaction with others in the here-and-now,
  • noticing patterns that emerge in this interaction,
  • considering the whole situation the client brings to the encounter,
  • supporting the development of curiosity and exploration,
  • encouraging experimenting with difference.
